Feel more connected with your child's development
Parents often wonder what their children are up to when they are not able to be with them. The Nest e-Portfolio’s enables educators to share each child’s special moments with their family at the time it occurs. This strengthens the communication between home, child care and school and builds a community of learners.
View your child’s e-Portfolios anytime
All you need to do is log in to your desktop or mobile device and view your child’s electronic portfolios at a time that is convenient to you. Your child's educational facility will provide you with your own username and password for you to login via a secure portal. This can be done in the comfort of your own home or when you are on a break at work - it's that easy.
Capturing your children’s learning
Your child’s professional educators will seek permission from you prior to capturing your child’s learning via photographs, text, artwork samples and collage tools. It is the early childhood service, school, organisation’s responsibility to discuss this with you and you control who you share your child’s information with.
Reflecting with your child
Children value one on one time with the most significant person in their lives, you! Taking the time to sit with your child and reflect on their personal e-Portfolio with them, allows you to deepen your knowledge and understanding of what is important to your child. It also encourages meaningful conversations about your child’s day, their interests, past projects and experiences that otherwise may have been missed opportunities for shared conversation.
Extending your child’s learning and development
Educators are required to document meaningful information about children’s interests, strengths and learning dispositions to inform their practices. They then thoughtfully and intentionally plan and implement engaging learning experiences to further extend your child’s development. Educational programs can be viewed online or at the service where your child attends. Families are welcomed and encouraged to comment and provide feedback on programs.
